ADEX 2026: Roketsan coastal defence contract announced

Roketsan signed a procurement agreement with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence Industry for the Barbaros coastal-defence system during ADEX 2026. The mobile architecture is designed to employ anti-ship missiles from dispersed land positions and can be configured around weapons such as the Atmaca, with the smaller Çakır presented as a future option. Neither side disclosed the number of batteries, contract value, delivery schedule, or final missile mix. The announcement therefore confirms a customer agreement but leaves the system’s operational configuration and fielding timeline for Azerbaijani forces unresolved.
