AeroVironment and Taiwan's Thunder Tiger Study Multi-Round Switchblade Launcher for USVs
AeroVironment and Taiwan's Thunder Tiger signed a memorandum at AUSA 2026 to explore Switchblade integration on unmanned surface and ground platforms and possible aircraft co-production in Taiwan. A principal technical study will assess a launcher carrying multiple Switchblade all-up rounds aboard a Thunder Tiger unmanned surface vessel. The framework also covers interoperability, potential demonstrations and future capability co-development, combining AV's loitering-munition systems with Thunder Tiger's platform and industrial capabilities. Announced on October 14, the arrangement remains a feasibility and cooperation effort, with no selected Switchblade variant, launcher capacity, procurement quantity, contract value or demonstration date disclosed.
