AeroVironment delivers first batch of Switchblade 600 loitering munitions to Lithuania
Lithuania has received its first batch of AeroVironment Switchblade 600 loitering munitions, together with launch and control equipment, a training simulator and maintenance support. The anti-armour weapon uses electro-optical and infrared sensing to locate stationary or moving targets and can approach them from above before striking. Operators control the system through a tablet interface and can abort an engagement or redirect the munition before committing to the attack. The delivery adds a remotely controlled precision-strike capability to Lithuanian forces, although the defence ministry's announcement did not specify the number delivered or the precise Switchblade configuration.
