AIM-260 JATM Missile Spotted On Australian Super Hornet
An Australian F/A-18F Super Hornet was photographed carrying an inert AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile during the multinational Gray Flag 2026 exercise at Point Mugu. The sighting provides visible evidence that integration work is progressing on an allied aircraft after Australia announced plans to acquire the long-range air-to-air weapon. Because the missile was a test article and the event focused on connecting aircraft, weapons, sensors, and networks, the appearance should not be treated as proof of operational fielding with combat units. Detailed AIM-260 performance remains classified.
