Amprius wins up to $75m US DoW grant for drone battery production

Amprius Technologies has been awarded a grant of up to $75 million from the U.S. Department of War through the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment program to expand domestic production of high-energy-density batteries for unmanned aerial systems. The funding will support conversion of an existing U.S. electric-vehicle battery production line operated by a major South Korean manufacturer. The project is intended to establish high-volume U.S. production of NDAA-compliant battery cells for Group 1, 2 and 3 drones.
