Anduril Industries says Barracuda is first mass-produced weapon to clear independent U.S. Air Force WOSA verification ahead of 2027 deliveries

Anduril says its Barracuda-M family is the first weapon already in large-scale production to pass independent US Air Force verification against the Weapon Open Systems Architecture standard. Air Force Research Laboratory testing examined 14 technical domains, including autonomy, seekers, propulsion, guidance, navigation, flight control and data interfaces. Verification means major subsystems can be replaced or upgraded without redesigning the entire weapon, supporting faster technology insertion and lower integration risk. Production is underway, with initial customer deliveries expected in early 2027 and planned capacity reaching several thousand weapons annually.
