Anduril, US Navy invest $6.6 billion to boost submarine parts production

Anduril announced a $3.7 billion investment in a Baltimore County shipyard, alongside a U.S. Navy contract worth up to $2.9 billion for Virginia-class submarine components. The combined $6.6 billion initiative links government payments to production results, with Anduril assuming most execution risk. Its Arsenal-2 facility is expected to operate by the end of the decade, producing larger submarine modules and hull sections and creating 3,100 direct jobs. Anduril is also developing a California facility for components including torpedo tubes, addressing capacity shortages in the supply chain supporting Electric Boat and Huntington Ingalls Industries.
