Argentina selects IWI ARAD 5 and ARAD 7 rifles with Meprolight M5 sights under government-to-government agreement with Israel
Argentina's armed forces have selected IWI ARAD 5 and ARAD 7 rifles fitted with Meprolight M5 red-dot sights through a government-to-government agreement with Israel. Israel's defence cooperation directorate, SIBAT, led the agreement, and Argentina's defence ministry presented the weapons during the first week of October. The modular rifles use a short-stroke gas piston, ambidextrous controls and a free-floating barrel, with accessory interfaces for different mission configurations. Their battery-powered sights offer adjustable brightness for daylight, limited illumination and night-vision use, while the announcement does not disclose order quantities, contract value or a timetable for wider distribution.
