ASELSAN’s GÖKALP interceptor destroys target drone in demonstration integrating AURA radar and DRONEDEF command-and-control
Turkish defense company ASELSAN demonstrated an integrated counter-drone engagement in which its GÖKALP E1 interceptor directly struck an aerial target. During the event at the Oğulbey Technology Base near Ankara, an AURA radar detected and tracked the drone before passing targeting information through the DRONEDEF command-and-control system to the interceptor. The test evaluated the sequence from initial radar detection and sensor-data processing to engagement authorization and kinetic interception within a coordinated defensive architecture. GÖKALP and DRONEDEF are associated with Turkey's wider STEELDOME air-defense effort, but the demonstration does not establish an operational deployment or production order.
