Aselsan's MORFOZ Guidance Kit Scores Direct Hit in First AKINCI Firing
Aselsan’s MORFOZ guidance kit achieved a direct hit during its first live firing from a Baykar AKINCI unmanned combat aircraft on October 8, 2026. The AKINCI launched from Çorlu, carried both MORFOZ and the ALPAGUT loitering munition, and released MORFOZ over the Gulf of Saros before returning to base. MORFOZ adds deployable wings and an anti-jam inertial and satellite-navigation guidance package to an otherwise unguided bomb, providing a standoff precision-strike option. Aselsan did not disclose the bomb class, engagement range, production status or procurement quantity, making the event a weapon-integration demonstration rather than an operational deployment announcement.
