ASELSAN Signs Record EUR 2.46 Billion Air Defense Contract
ASELSAN announced contracts totaling €2.46 billion with Türkiye’s Secretariat of Defence Industries on October 5 for the procurement of hybrid air defense systems. The company described the package as the largest single contract in its 51-year history, although it did not identify the equipment variants, quantities or delivery timetable. Its hybrid air defense approach combines multiple weapons and sensors, with the GÜRZ family illustrating the integration of guns, missiles, radar, electro-optical equipment and electronic warfare on a mobile platform. The announcement does not establish which of those configurations is included in the new procurement.
