AUSA 2026: Bale Defence adds CUAS role to RTV6 platform
Australia's Bale Defence displayed its RTV6 6x6 all-terrain vehicle in a counter-drone configuration at AUSA 2026, combining a radar sensor with an FN Herstal remote weapon station. The station carries a 12.7 mm machine gun and is mounted on a scissor-lift platform on the rear flatbed behind the driver and commander. An elevated radar monitors a designated arc for incoming unmanned aircraft, which can be engaged when they enter the weapon's effective range. The exhibition configuration adds a potential mobile air-defense role to the RTV family, but no military order, certified engagement range or operational fielding schedule was announced.
