AUSA 2026: USARPAC learning ‘Typhon' missile system lessons over 30-month deployment

US Army Pacific is using more than 30 months of forward Typhon deployment in the Philippines to refine employment, sustainment, protection and sensor-to-shooter integration, officials said at AUSA on October 12, 2026. The Mid-Range Capability launches Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles and SM-6 interceptors from a ground-based system positioned between Precision Strike Missile and Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon ranges. Its standard battery comprises four launchers, a battery operations centre, a support vehicle and reload equipment. The Army conducted its first Philippine Tomahawk launch from Typhon during Balikatan on May 5, providing live-fire experience alongside the continuing deployment and cooperation with Philippine forces.
