Australia Seeks Tomahawk Mission Planning Center to Run Long-Range Strikes

The U.S. State Department approved a possible $300 million Foreign Military Sale to Australia for a Theater Mission Planning Center and associated Tomahawk mission-planning support. The package covers communications, planning systems, engineering, training and logistics rather than additional cruise missiles, and no equipment quantities or delivery schedule were specified. Australia has separately received approval for up to 200 Tomahawk Block V and 20 Block IV missiles and conducted its first naval Tomahawk firing in December 2024. The October 2026 notification is a congressional approval step and does not by itself constitute a signed contract.
