Australian firms join forces on hypersonic test capability

Gilmour Space Technologies and Hypersonix Launch Systems signed an agreement to offer sovereign hypersonic flight-test services in Australia and overseas. Gilmour will contribute rocket propulsion, launch operations, mission integration and test infrastructure, while Hypersonix provides scramjet propulsion and hypersonic vehicle expertise. The partnership follows the February 2026 flight of Hypersonix's DART AE test vehicle at more than Mach 5 and is aimed at providing repeatable test options for defence and commercial customers; no programme value or booked flight campaign was disclosed.
