Australian HIMARS Second Batch Lands Two Years Early, 90 Launchers Planned

Australia announced delivery of its second batch of HIMARS launchers on October 7, two years ahead of the original schedule. The number in this shipment was not disclosed, but the Army plans to field up to 90 launchers across two long-range fires regiments within the Adelaide-based 10th Fires Brigade. The initial acquisition phase covers 42 launchers, combining an original order for 20 with a subsequent order for 22. A second phase backed by A$2.3 billion selects additional HIMARS and Precision Strike Missiles for a second regiment at Edinburgh, following the first two launchers delivered in March 2025.
