Australian P-8A Poseidon Takes Key Role in Four-Nation Indo-Pacific Undersea Warfare Exercise
A Royal Australian Air Force P-8A Poseidon took part in a four-nation anti-submarine warfare exercise in the western Pacific from 25 to 27 August. The aircraft worked with submarines from the United States, Japan, and South Korea on tracking, simulated engagements, and joint management of underwater operating areas, while an Australian liaison officer supported theater-level coordination from Yokosuka. The activity strengthened shared procedures and command links for detecting and prosecuting submarine threats across allied forces in the Indo-Pacific. Commander Task Force 74 directed the theater undersea-warfare component.
