Babcock and Saab secure $117.5 million deal to keep Australia’s Anzac-class frigates ready for frontline operations

Babcock Australasia and Saab Australia have been selected for a five-year contract worth about $117.5 million to manage the remaining service life of the Royal Australian Navy's Anzac-class frigates. The work covers asset management, engineering and supply-chain services intended to keep the ships seaworthy, materially ready and available while Australia transitions to replacement surface combatants. Both companies will operate from the Henderson maritime precinct in Western Australia, drawing on their roles under the existing Warship Asset Management Agreement. Babcock contributes platform expertise, while Saab specialises in the frigates' combat system.
