BAE Systems wins $16 million contract to strengthen U.S. Navy carrier landing system against GPS jamming with M-Code upgrade
BAE Systems received a $16 million subcontract from Collins Aerospace to develop an encrypted M-Code GPS upgrade for the U.S. Navy’s Joint Precision Approach and Landing System. The work will incorporate BAE’s DIGAR-500M anti-jam receiver to improve the resilience of carrier-landing guidance against interference and spoofing. JPALS currently provides precision approach information for aircraft operating from ships and other austere locations, and the upgrade is intended to protect that function in contested electromagnetic environments. The award covers development and integration, not wholesale replacement of deployed JPALS equipment.
