Boeing and engineers' union reach tentative contract agreement

Boeing and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace reached a tentative four-year labour agreement on September 11 after union members rejected an earlier proposal on August 21. The deal provides a 10% wage increase on October 16, followed by 4% annual increases plus merit adjustments through 2030, and includes provisions covering remote work and overtime. The union’s negotiating team recommended approval to roughly 17,000 represented employees in the Seattle area. Members must still ratify the agreement before the current contract expires on October 6, leaving a strike possible if the vote fails.
