Boeing Begins JDAM LR Payload Unit Production for 500-Pound Strikes Beyond 300 Nautical Miles

Boeing has begun production of the JDAM LR payload unit for 500-pound-class weapons. The system is intended to extend precision-strike range beyond 300 nautical miles. The production step moves the long-range guided bomb capability toward wider availability. JDAM LR could provide aircraft with stand-off strike options against defended targets.
