Boeing says first full-rate MH-139A Grey Wolf order advances U.S. Air Force fielding for strategic missile security missions
Boeing received the first full-rate production order for four MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters, advancing U.S. Air Force fielding for security missions around intercontinental ballistic-missile sites and other strategic assets. The order brings the number of aircraft under contract to 42, while 27 had been delivered when the award was announced. Moving to full-rate production follows initial operational capability earlier in 2026 and should provide a steadier manufacturing cadence. The Grey Wolf replaces ageing UH-1N helicopters with greater speed, range, payload, and mission-system capability across dispersed operating areas.
