Britain invests £770 million in 2,000-km cruise and hypersonic strike weapons with Germany to strengthen NATO deterrence

Britain committed an initial £770 million to develop Deep Precision Strike weapons with Germany under the 2024 Trinity House Agreement. The ground-launched capability is intended to exceed 2,000 kilometres and enter service in the early 2030s, with air- and sea-launched variants also being studied. Officials have described possible cruise-missile and hypersonic elements but have not selected final designs, and the weapons would complement rather than replace Tomahawk. The program sits within £11.1 billion of British weapons and munitions spending over the next four financial years, followed by at least £20 billion planned for 2030–35.
