Britain puts space at centre of defence buying revolution

Britain placed space among the first portfolios managed through its new National Armaments Group, making satellite and counter-space needs an early test of wider defense-procurement reform. The government plans nearly £13 billion in space spending over the next decade and is creating a more active customer organization intended to connect requirements, acquisition bodies and suppliers more directly. Related measures include an Office for Small Business Growth and roughly £400 million a year for defense innovation, aimed at reducing barriers for smaller firms and moving usable capability into service faster.
