British thermal satellite firm doubles its fleet in orbit
British company SatVu has launched HotSat-3 on SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission, giving the firm a second operational thermal-imaging satellite once commissioning is complete. HotSat-3 will operate alongside HotSat-2 and is expected to allow thermal imaging of any location on Earth roughly once every 24 hours, day or night. SatVu's mid-wave infrared imagery is marketed to defence, intelligence and commercial users for monitoring activity at strategic sites and critical infrastructure.
