Canada and Ukraine announce more than $2 billion in defence and energy packages covering Patriot interceptors, F-16 weapons and drones

Canada and Ukraine announced defence and energy packages worth more than $2 billion, including over $1 billion in Canadian government support focused largely on air defence. The military assistance covers Patriot interceptors, F-16 munitions, drones, and other deliveries, while Ottawa is seeking additional Patriot missiles from international suppliers. The two governments also signed an initial document for a bilateral drone-production arrangement and announced commercial energy agreements. Canada additionally offered technology for Europe’s proposed FREYJA anti-ballistic-missile initiative, although quantities and delivery schedules for several elements were not released.
