Cessna Cuts Cockpit Out Of SkyCourier Cargo Hauler For Uncrewed Logistics

Textron Aviation unveiled the SkyCourier UX, an uncrewed version of the Cessna 408 cargo aircraft with the cockpit removed to maximize useful volume and simplify autonomous operation. The underlying SkyCourier can carry three standard LD3 containers, giving the concept substantially more payload than small logistics drones. Textron is positioning the aircraft for contested resupply missions in which commanders may accept greater platform risk without endangering a crew. The design remains a proposal and demonstrator path, with autonomy certification, ground handling, communications, survivability, and military customer requirements still unresolved.
