Dual UK-Iranian national held in Fairford terror inquiry
British counter-terrorism police arrested a 25-year-old dual British-Iranian national in Westminster on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts connected with activity near RAF Fairford. Officers acted under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and searched two properties while examining several possible lines of inquiry, including potential foreign-state involvement. Police corrected an earlier statement that gave the suspect’s age as 27 and referred to a second interview that did not occur. The arrest is part of an active investigation and does not establish guilt or confirm a state-directed plot.
