Royal IHC secures first Orka-class submarine order from Naval Group, opening Dutch role in module design, production and installation

Royal IHC received its first Naval Group order under the Netherlands' Orka-class submarine program, beginning with design work for the onboard accommodation module. The module covers crew living spaces and is expected to progress from engineering into Dutch production and installation as the program advances. The award implements the Team Orka industrial-cooperation framework and gives a domestic shipbuilder a defined role alongside the French prime contractor. Naval Group and Royal IHC did not disclose the order's value, detailed schedule, or the timing of follow-on manufacturing work, so the immediate commitment is narrower than a complete submarine-module production contract.
