Dutch firm uses AI to help drone systems 'talk' on Ukraine's battlefield

Dutch software company Intelic demonstrated its Nexus air-defense platform at a former Dutch airbase in late September, linking radar detection, AI target verification and an interceptor drone through one control interface. Sensors and cameras from different manufacturers fed the system, while a reconnaissance drone used image recognition to confirm the target before a human authorized interception. Intelic holds a €30 million Dutch defense contract and is introducing Nexus to Ukrainian units alongside their Delta battlefield-management system. The software integrates disparate drone and sensor systems while retaining human control over the engagement decision demonstrated in the trial.
