Hanwha, Edge partnering on UAE's integrated air defence

EDGE and Hanwha Aerospace signed a term sheet to explore deeper cooperation on integrated air and missile defence in the United Arab Emirates. The companies are considering local production and integration involving South Korean systems such as L-SAM, M-SAM, and the Chunmoo rocket launcher family. A joint structure could combine Emirati industrial access with Hanwha's established sensors, interceptors, launchers, and command systems. The announcement is exploratory rather than a finalized purchase, so platform selection, workshare, technology transfer, financing, and government approvals remain to be negotiated.
