Epic Fury Tally: Lincoln Strike Group Fired 450 Tomahawks and Sank 64 Warships

The Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group launched 450 Tomahawks, conducted 3,693 combat sorties and sank 64 Iranian warships during Operation Epic Fury and the subsequent blockade, according to figures given by Pete Hegseth on October 7. Tomahawk launches came from escorting destroyers Spruance, Frank E. Petersen Jr. and Michael Murphy, rather than the aircraft carrier itself. Their combined 288 vertical-launch cells also accommodate air-defense missiles, so the reported expenditure exceeds a single full magazine load. The announcement provides no reload timetable or allocation of launches between ships to explain expenditure beyond their combined installed magazine capacity.
