Epirus Leonidas Microwave Weapon Joins US Army C2 in Operation Jailbreak
Epirus reported integrating its Leonidas high-power microwave counter-drone system into a broader US Army command-and-control architecture during Operation JAILBREAK FALCON FURY. The demonstration linked sensors, the microwave effector and shared command functions through the Army’s open-architecture integration effort, enabling operators to allocate weapons against different drone threats. Leonidas uses solid-state, software-controlled microwave emissions to disrupt drone electronics and can address multiple closely grouped aircraft within its beam. The development programme also includes two Generation II systems ordered for $43.5 million in July 2025, while Epirus plans to exhibit a mobile Leonidas GV variant at AUSA 2026.
