EU and South Korea establish secure satellite working group to assess future integration with the IRIS² connectivity constellation

The European Commission and South Korea created a joint working group to explore secure satellite communications and possible future integration with the EU’s IRIS² constellation. Officials will exchange information on current and planned programs, identify joint applications and assess technical options for system-level cooperation. Access could give South Korea a resilient European connectivity architecture while European companies benefit from Korean industrial expertise, but the administrative arrangement today starts a study process rather than committing either side to procurement, membership or a final integration model.
