Fincantieri Delivers 5th PPA 'Domenico Millelire' to Italian Navy

Fincantieri delivered the Italian Navy's fifth Thaon di Revel-class multipurpose offshore patrol vessel, Domenico Millelire, at its Muggiano shipyard in La Spezia on September 24. Managed through OCCAR, the program is renewing Italy's surface fleet with ships that can shift between patrol, rescue, civil-protection, and combat missions through configurable equipment. The 143-meter vessel can exceed 31 knots, accommodates up to 171 personnel, uses combined diesel, gas-turbine, and electric propulsion, and carries rigid-hull inflatable boats for boarding, rescue, and logistical support operations at sea and ashore.
