France's HypAIRion AI Program Readies Rafale F5 for Combat Drones by 2033
France’s HypAIRion programme is developing an artificial-intelligence framework to connect the future Rafale F5 with collaborative combat drones by 2033. Led by the French Air and Space Force with the procurement agency and military artificial-intelligence organization, the effort will use Mirage 2000 testbeds and an AI-enabled TALIOS targeting pod to mature decision support, sensing, and human-machine teaming. The programme seeks a common software and data architecture rather than a single drone design. Its systems remain under development and must pass safety, integration, operational, and certification testing before frontline use.
