German warship fires ballistic missile in message to Russia

A German frigate successfully test-fired an Israel Aerospace Industries LORA ballistic missile from a containerised launcher in the North Atlantic between Ireland and Iceland. NATO kept the trial undisclosed until completion and reported a range exceeding 500 kilometres, while IAI lists about 400 kilometres and accuracy within 10 metres. The missile followed its planned trajectory and struck the target, with the launcher and weapon meeting the test objectives. Germany conducted the firing through the Navy's OPEX initiative, which evaluates technologies and operating concepts under its Marine 2035 and Beyond programme.
