Hanwha Buys Two THeMIS UGVs and Opens Local Production Path in Australia

Hanwha has purchased two Milrem Robotics THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles and established an industrial framework covering Australia and New Zealand. One vehicle will support research and development in South Korea, while the second will be used in Australia as the companies explore local production, sales and sustainment. THeMIS is a tracked, hybrid diesel-electric platform with a payload capacity of 750 kilograms, allowing different equipment packages for transport, reconnaissance or armed missions. Announced on October 7, the arrangement expands industrial cooperation between the companies but does not constitute an Australian government procurement or a confirmed local manufacturing order.
