Hermeus Offering High-Mach Test Services With New Ramjet-Powered Vehicle

Hermeus introduced Ramjet-X, an air-launched, ramjet-powered vehicle intended to provide customers with repeatable high-Mach flight-test services. The roughly 22-foot demonstrator is designed to be carried beneath the company's Quarterhorse aircraft and used to evaluate propulsion, materials, sensors and other systems in relevant conditions. It could also support target or test roles as development matures. The offering is presently a test platform concept, so advertised speed, cadence, payload capacity and customer missions remain dependent on successful integration and flight validation through the planned series of demonstrations.
