HII expands Massachusetts factory by 25% to scale U.S. Navy Lionfish production and meet global demand for unmanned vessels

Huntington Ingalls Industries has expanded its Pocasset, Massachusetts, unmanned-systems facility by 10,000 square feet, increasing the site’s footprint by 25 percent. The plant supports production and integration of REMUS autonomous underwater vehicles and ROMULUS uncrewed surface vessels, with the added capacity intended to meet growing U.S. and international demand. Separately, HII’s U.S. Navy Lionfish program, based on the REMUS 300, could scale to as many as 200 vehicles under a contract valued at more than $347 million.
