HII Wins U.S. Navy Contract for 10 ROMULUS USVs

HII received a U.S. Navy production agreement for ten ROMULUS medium uncrewed surface vessels as one-third of a 30-ship multi-vendor purchase. The vessels will use HII's Odyssey autonomy architecture and are intended to accept modular payloads for missions such as surveillance, counter-drone operations, mine warfare and unmanned-system support. Company trials included a 420-nautical-mile, 28-hour autonomous endurance mission, while Navy deliveries are expected to begin by late fiscal 2027, giving the service a production fleet for operational experimentation and mission-system integration. Operational testing will determine which missions receive priority first.
