HMS Agamemnon reaches Clyde after first sea dive, preparing to join five Astute-class submarines in Royal Navy operational service

HMS Agamemnon, the sixth Astute-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, has completed its first sea dive and arrived at the Clyde naval base in preparation for entry into Royal Navy operational service. The milestone follows sea trials and brings the Royal Navy closer to completing its seven-boat Astute program, which provides the service's primary hunter-killer submarine capability. HMS Agamemnon will join five in-service Astute boats, significantly augmenting the Royal Navy's total nuclear-powered attack submarine availability.
