Huntington Ingalls Industries completes first ROMULUS 151 hull, advancing five AI-enabled unmanned vessels for U.S. maritime forces

Huntington Ingalls Industries completed and turned the first structural hull for ROMULUS 151, advancing a five-vessel unmanned surface-ship program. Four hulls are being built by Breaux Brothers in New Iberia and one by Halimar Shipyard in Morgan City before systems integration. The design uses HII's Odyssey autonomous architecture and is intended to accept modular payloads for surveillance, mine warfare, strike and launch of smaller uncrewed systems. Completing the hull is a manufacturing milestone, not delivery or operational acceptance by US forces or completion of payload integration and trials.
