Indra Unveils Squall Low-Cost Cruise Missile, Drone Interceptor

Indra unveiled Squall as a low-cost interceptor concept for defeating cruise missiles and drones with a weapon economical enough to be fielded in quantity. The proposal targets the growing mismatch between inexpensive mass attacks and limited stocks of high-end surface-to-air missiles. Squall would need to combine adequate speed, sensing, guidance and lethality with simple production and integration into wider command networks; the concept therefore illustrates Europe’s push for affordable magazine depth, although development status, performance data and a fielding schedule have not yet been disclosed.
