Iran war has cost $38 billion, depleted two-thirds of US missile interceptors, CBO says

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that U.S. combat operations against Iran cost about $38 billion through August 1 and consumed between one-half and two-thirds of the combined inventory of Patriot, THAAD, SM-3 and SM-6 interceptors. Replacing expended munitions would cost an estimated $21.7 billion, including $13.1 billion for missile-defence interceptors, and rebuilding inventories could take at least five years even with higher output. CBO cautioned that the Pentagon did not provide requested data, leaving the estimate subject to considerable uncertainty as additional fighting could add $2 billion to $3 billion monthly.
