Iron Dome's First U.S.-Built Tamir Interceptor Delivered in Arkansas
Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems delivered the first Tamir interceptor manufactured and assembled entirely in the United States to Israel's Missile Defense Organization on October 8. The handover took place at East Camden, Arkansas, the first facility outside Israel capable of producing complete rounds for the Iron Dome system. R2S received a $1.25 billion Israeli production contract in November 2025 covering missiles, kits and test equipment, although quantities and follow-on schedules remain undisclosed. The same plant will also manufacture SkyHunter interceptors for the Marine Corps' Medium Range Intercept Capability, extending the joint venture's complete-missile production role.
