Italian Army tests Ukrainian gun-armed robots in assault drill
The Italian Army evaluated two Ukrainian-developed, gun-armed unmanned ground vehicles during the AEGIS 26 exercise in a simulated assault with Italian robotic systems and infantry. The platforms were connected to a NATO-compatible battlefield information network, allowing commanders and observers, including Italy’s president, to follow the operation. Ukrainian participants also shared lessons from wartime use, giving the exercise practical context for tactics and integration. The event was a demonstration and assessment, not evidence that Italy has selected, purchased, or fielded the Ukrainian vehicles for operational service.
