Japan's Prodrone gears up to mass produce 58,000 drones a year

Japanese drone manufacturer Prodrone is preparing production capacity of up to 58,000 aircraft a year, a major increase aimed at anticipated government, industrial and security demand. Large-scale domestic output could reduce dependence on overseas suppliers and shorten replenishment times for systems increasingly treated as consumable equipment. Reaching the target will require automated assembly, reliable component sourcing, quality control and firm orders across multiple models; the plan therefore represents both an industrial ambition and a test of whether Japan can sustain competitive high-volume drone manufacturing.
