JLR unveils new military Defender to replace old Land Rovers

Jaguar Land Rover unveiled three Defender Wolf Series II military variants aimed at replacing ageing Land Rovers and competing for the British Light Mobility Vehicle requirement. The designs adapt the modern Defender platform for military payloads, protection, communications, and specialist roles while retaining a commercial production and support base. JLR is also targeting NATO and allied export markets seeking a common light utility vehicle. The vehicles are contenders rather than selected equipment, and final capability will depend on trials, protection levels, mission kits, support arrangements, price, and government procurement decisions.
