KNDS and Patria prepare German assembly of 6×6 armored vehicles, building local production capacity for the CAVS program in Freisen

KNDS Deutschland and Patria are preparing to assemble Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles in Freisen, Germany, under the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System programme. Initial series vehicles will come from Finnish production, while technology transfer, kits, final assembly, and progressively deeper local work are planned to build German capacity by the end of 2026. The arrangement follows an August framework agreement and identifies KNDS as a German industrial partner. Public announcements did not state vehicle quantities, contract value, or the exact pace at which domestic content will increase.
